About the Cooksey Division

Founder and Branch Manager, Michael Cooksey, values his employee’s efforts, ideas and opinions.  He also believes in maintaining a positive and fun work environment!

We are proud of our unique, family-like culture, which encourages communication and interaction amongst employees.  This piece of the puzzle is very important, as it makes for a desirable team-based work environment.  Our branch celebrates every one of our employee birthdays, hosts office potlucks, and cookouts at Michael’s home. We even have a “Fun Committee” that is dedicated to planning events for our employees to enjoy!  TopGolf, bowling, paintball, chili cook-offs and other events continue to be a huge success and are highly anticipated by our Loan Officers and staff.  Our quarterly service events such as Habitat for Humanity-ReStore, and annually stuffing the Christmas bus, allow our branch to give back to the community while developing team-building skills.  Members of the Cooksey Branch also donate to, and volunteer, their time with charitable organizations found in our areas we call home.  

We also have complimentary healthy food options, such as fresh deli meats, fruits, snacks and beverages available to all employees that work for The Cooksey Team.  Our kitchen is stocked weekly and continues to prove a valuable resource for employees to enjoy! 

Our commitment to our employees and service define our branch.  For this very reason, we believe in maintaining positive relationships with our staff and customers.  Through collaborative efforts, training and coaching, we continue to develop and become stronger as a team.

As founder of The Cooksey Division, Michael Cooksey has built one of the most successful retail branches for Mid America Mortgage. With 17 years in the industry, Michael brings the experience and knowledge needed to lead a successful mortgage transaction. His guiding principle as founder of The Cooksey Division has been to focus on internal team-building to fuel the branch’s astounding origination growth, a strategy which has resulted in unquestionable success.

Since joining Mid America in 2012, Cooksey has received numerous awards for excellence in the industry, including the 2017 HousingWire “HW Insiders” award, the 2017 National Mortgage Professional “40 Under 40” award and the 2018 Mortgage Professional America “Hot 100” award. Additionally, The Cooksey Team has been named one of North Texas’ “Best Places to Work” by the Dallas Business Journal in both 2017 and 2018. In addition to leading The Cooksey Division, Michael also serves as Executive Managing Director of Production for Mid America Mortgage, where he is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the success of Mid America’s current network of retail branches nationwide, as well as recruiting and on-boarding new branches

Michael is deeply committed to the success of his staff. Utilizing the CORE training methodology, Michael has coached his own staff, as well as loan officers, brokers and real estate agents across the country, to become top producers. 

What Michael prides himself in now, is coaching. Cooksey Coaching is committed to helping clients reach their income potential by building a structured business using The CORE Training, Inc. methodology. We offer coaching for both real estate agents and loan officers at any stage in their career. Through systematic accountability, we can teach you how to work 30 hours per week and take three weeks of worry-free vacation while your business produces great results.
